Military Personnel, Couples, and Family Therapy

Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) and Military Combat Trauma

Many military personnel experience some form of PTSD after they return from combat. PTSD is a psychological reaction to severely stressful and threatening events and is a normal reaction for some to traumatic events such as the brutality of war.

Whether you have just returned from serving or have been suffering for a long time, it is never too late to overcome the harsh effects of PTSD.

You don’t have to deal with the experience of PTSD on your own – at JRM we’re here to help.

If you relate to any of the following symptoms, you may be experiencing PTSD:

  • Avoiding locations, people, situations that remind you of the event
  • Anxiety or depression
  • Intrusive thoughts, flashbacks or nightmares
  • Increased anger, irritability, and aggressive or reckless behavior
  • Trouble sleeping
  • Loss of interest in previously enjoyable activities

If you don’t feel like your old self after returning from combat, we’re here to be your partner in helping you understand your fear, anxiety, and other negative emotions and guiding you through the process of overcoming them.

At JRM, we specialize in using prolonged-exposure therapy treatments for military combat trauma to help you and your family during military life transitions.
